Serving Board - Honu Sea Turtle with Scallops
The larger size is available with recesses (scallops) in the side fins for condiments, shoyu, wasabe or whatever compliments your pupu (apetizers).
The Honu is an iconic shape and one of the most popular as an art form in Hawaii, whether in jewelry, photographs or sculpture. I am pleased to contribute my interpretation of this shape, which is both satisfying to the eye and useful.
My friends have been after me for years to add a serving board in the shape of a Honu (sea turtle) to our collection of serving boards. I finally developed a design which I found pleasing to the eye, which is also practical in shape and we are now in production.
These come in two sizes: the smaller is 14¾ inches long and 11¾ wide inches wide, the larger is 17 inches long and 13 1/2 wide.
They are made in the same fashion as our other boards with materials book matched from the center to best balance the look of the board and highlight the quality, and variety of the fine woods we use. These are available in the mixed woods as well as in Koa with highlights.
